Our Research
The research is focused on improving health outcomes for children and families during emergencies, disasters, and pandemics. It aims to generate findings relevant to those involved in emergency events, including clinicians, emergency response teams, families, and caregivers. The goal is to provide actionable insights and resources that can be readily utilized to support their work.
Pediatric Disaster Science Research Training Program
- Pilot and Emerging Issues Project Award – Aims to enhance pediatric care during future disasters, emergencies, and pandemics. Past awards have funded up to 10 projects at $50,000 per year for two years.

- Pediatric Disaster Science Research Training Program – A year-long curriculum for nationwide students entering pediatric disaster health services research.
- PPN Mentored Disaster Research Center Development Award – The purpose of this award is to provide salary and research support for a designated period of "protected time" (2-3 years) to train future scientists in conducting Disaster Science Research in Pediatrics.
